High School students - Sign up for CCSO's Citizens' Academy!
Our partners at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office want your high school student for their next Citizens' Academy class!
The class kicks off on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
High school students are invited to explore careers in law enforcement and learn about the latest innovations at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office by enrolling in the CCSO Citizens’ Academy. The 12-week program offers students a behind-the-scenes look at the sheriff’s office, including new initiatives such as body-worn camera systems, new divisions, and career advancement opportunities. The academy provided a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with deputies, ask questions, and gain firsthand insight into the programs and services that support public safety in Citrus County.
Parents - print out and complete the parent permission form that is on top of the application and have your student return it to their SRO. This needs to be done to process the application.
