Welcome to the Crystal River High School Academy of Health Careers!

The Academy of Health Careers prepares high school students for careers in nursing, biomedical sciences, dental assisting, emergency medical responding, and as an emergency medical technician. Skills developed in these programs include using tools and technology in the workplace, using quantitative skills appropriately, working within a team, developing effective written and verbal communication skills, understanding complex materials, and learning to critically think on the job.

The Academy of Health Careers is comprised of approximately 250 students who were screened using equitable criteria that correlates with student success in the program. Students are evaluated on their attendance, academic grades, and behavior in the classroom.

 We are no longer accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year.

Scrubs will be worn on Wednesdays throughout the 2019-2020 school year.

Professional Scrub Attire 

The objective of the Academy of Health Careers is to encourage students to become health care workers and to assist students into post secondary education in the pursuit of the health care career of their choice.
