Students looking to be accepted into one of our program pathways must have:
- An interest in the life sciences or related fields
- Submitted a completed the application (meeting all requirements) on time
- Have a great academic record (taking advanced classes is a huge plus - particularly in science, ELA , and math)
- Have an excellent attendance record
- Have no recent serious disciplinary referrals
- Optional: Students can submit a letter (or letters) of recommendation from a current teacher if they feel it will help strengthen their application.
Students will be evaluated on a rubric based on the following:
- Current grades, courses, and level of courses
- State test scores (students should have passing scores)
- Attendance record
- Discipline record
- Essay/Video quality & content
Students will be required to submit the following to complete their application:
- A completed application submitted on time
- An uploaded video interview or an organized, typed essay answering the following prompts:
- Why should you be selected as a member of the Academy of Health Careers?
- What specifically made you want to apply to be in the Academy of Health Careers?
- What is something you've done that you are really proud of?
- What is one thing that you have done that you feel you've learned the most from (good or bad)?
- Explain your future goals and how the Academy of Health Careers will help you achieve them.
Essays should be a personal statement and should not utilize AI in any way. Essays believed to be written with AI will not be scored.
If you choose to submit a video, it should follow the following criteria:
- Only feature the student that is applying
- Be in a well-lit room
- Be recorded from a stationary device
- Be no longer than 5 minutes but should be at least 3 minutes in length
Completed applications are reviewed by our admissions panel and scored. Students will received notification of acceptance/rejection on February 14th, 2025.
Application window started December 20, 2024 and ended February 2, 2025 at midnight.
All applications will were reviewed from February 3rd through February 13th, 2025
Acceptance notifications arrived via email on February 14th, 2025
Deadline to Commit to our program will be February 21, 2025
All parts of the application were due no later than February 2nd, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year.
